Status of Podcasting 2.0 Support

As of 10/16/2025 the show has a functional, self-hosted AlbyHub node.

Donations are working for Podcasting 2.0 Listeners!

Bitcoin Lightning splits should be supported from any Podcasting 2.0 client
- The show is available from Podcast Index, Fountain, IPFS Podcasting, etc. Open to other suggestions!
- Direct donations also available.
- Nostr is supported within Direct Deposits. See below where I'm curious on suggestions for building out more support.
Nostr full support is available in a preliminary status here.

Chapters and Transcriptions are supported for all listeners. Should be natively available to Podcasting 2.0 listeners.

Update on this, it seems that there is outstanding issue which a Fountain.fm listener reported:

"Claiming" the podcast on Fountain.fm is still needed to improve user abilities within that platform. But, because I already have value blocks established this process seems to be problematic, because I have no option to "claim" my show.
Fountain itself supports Alby nodes being used externally, but doesn't seem to help with this verification claim. Resolved by emailing Fountain directly.
Fountain recommends podcasterwallet, which is connected to Podcastindex. This service literally supports Alby authentication, but I do not understand the purpose of it.
- My podcast offers channel level and episode (item) level splits. Why would this additional service be useful at all? Also, podcasterwallet does not support the actually rss tags I am using within it's dropdown menu + it has no git repo or similar. Super strange.
- Updated podcasterwallet to reflect show host within AlbyHub. It isn't able to be customized to reflect my actual channel splits, which must be managed from Castopod directly.

04/2026 update
Migrated to channel level splits for the entire podcast, instead of per-episode. This means splits are automatically managed across all episodes by default, which means Fountain is supposed to respect my default. Per episode customization can override these default values.

AlbyHub failing to connect.

AlbyHub has a habit of failing to find DNS when restarting, so edited compose files to ask it to sleep until DNS can be successfully pinged when the service is force restarted.
